I ordered the Xiaomi Blender to see what the fuzz was about. And I thought it would be a great subject to discuss. And an opinion I have! I tested the Xiaomi Smart Blender during the holidays and this blender is amazing, I actually cleaned up a part of my countertop so that it could have a permanent home in my kitchen. Will it blend?
I’ve been using this blender for a while now, and it’s without a doubt my favorite device of 2024. Let’s start with the basics: Wow, it’s heavy! That was my initial thought when I took it out of the box. Part of the weight comes from the blender’s 1600ml jar, which is made from borosilicate glass, offering exceptional durability. The base is also quite heavy and equipped with rubberized grips, keeping it stable on your kitchen countertop. I tested the Xiaomi Smart Blender during the holidays and was impressed by its stability.
The Xiaomi Smart Blender boasts a powerful 1,000-watt motor, ensuring smooth and consistent results across a wide range of recipes, from icy drinks to creamy soups. Its stainless steel blades are built for durability and precision-engineered to handle tough ingredients with ease, making it ideal for everything from crushing ice to grinding nuts and seeds. There are in total 9 different blend speeds to choose from that will allow you to prevent obliterating any type of food you put into the blender.

The Xiaomi Smart Blender is HOT!
One of my absolute favourite features of the Xiaomi Smart Blender is its heating function, which sets it apart from traditional blenders. With a dedicated heating element offering between 800 and 950 watts of power, the blender can easily prepare hot soups or sauces. The thick glass jar holds in the heat pretty well, but it does get hot over longer periods. This is to be expected and Xiaomi warns about this. Luckily, the large grippy handle lets you pour out the contents safely.
From a personal perspective, this function has been a game-changer for quick and more tasteful meals. With a young family, dinnertime is a busy time at the house, and especially for Italian dishes, I used the get pre-made sauces. Well not anymore, just grab some tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, onions and fresh basil, tell the Xiaomi app and let the blender do its thing. Not ready for dinner? just select the ‘Keep Warm’ function! I tested the Xiaomi Smart Blender during the holidays and found the ‘Keep Warm’ feature especially useful for busy meal times.

Oké so it’s smart, what does this mean? Gone is the traditional ‘blend speed’ knob, it is replaced by Xiaomi with an interactive wheel with an integrated oled screen. Again it’s fitting for the overall build quality. You can cycle through settings or use the menu to set up wifi and the connection to the app. I tested the Xiaomi Smart Blender during the holidays and found its smart features to be quite beneficial.
So the second interface is the Mi app.
Here’s where it gets interesting and well… smart I guess. The Xiaomi Mi app allows you to remotely control your blender, set automations, and access a library of fantastic recipes. You can even upload your favorite recipes directly to the blender’s menu, making them easily selectable using the interactive wheel. The recipe library is impressively diverse, even including options for tasks like ice-making. It’s so smart, in fact, that the blender starts taking over the jobs of other dedicated kitchen appliances, streamlining your cooking experience like never before.
Dear Xiaomi,.. here’s what I would do!
Although the library of recipes is extensive, I often find myself wandering through the kitchen in the afternoon, searching for ingredients and brainstorming what to cook. So, here’s my feature request for the app: could we sprinkle in a little AI? I want to be able to tell the app what ingredients I have on hand and get tailored recipe suggestions based on my general idea; like a sauce or a smoothie. To me, this feature would elevate Xiaomi’s Smart Blender to an entirely new level of convenience and innovation.
Conclusion: Amazing Tech
I’m convinced the Xiaomi Smart Blender has truly risen to the occasion and earned its rightful place in my kitchen. With a retail price of around $120 or €115, it offers exceptional value for everything it delivers. While the Xiaomi Mi app could benefit from an ingredient-based AI update, even if you’re not fully sold on the smart tech (I was skeptical at first), this blender is still an outstanding choice with remarkable build quality that shines on its own.
